Construction engineering in Taiwan nowadays pursues not only cost-down and work-day shortening, but also the tidiness and good looking of the facade of the buildings. Among all the decorative materials, ceramic tiles are one of the most used materials. This makes the working project of ceramic tiles a job that can not be overlooked in which the planning in the project defines the result of the construction. Since there are various kinds of tiles with different sizes, types and practices, the difficulty and complexity of the planning thus increases. Traditional practice only counts the number of the tiles needed, but rarely takes the issues of alignment among tiles into account. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a "Tile Arrangement Project" so the practice of the work can go even smoother. By introducing values of relevant parameters of the structure, we calculate the sizes require adjustment (i.e., the positions of the doors and windows, the thickness of the paints on the columns, the beans and the walls) and the total number of the tiles needed under the condition of not influencing the safety of the structure and present the result with CAD graphs to simulate the final outcome of the practice. This research adopts Visual Basic programming language with Auto CAD graphing software to establish a "Tile Arrangement Planning" system. According to our study, we concludes that this system can decrease the resources wasted during the planning phase and manage the cost and the number of the materials and lower down the amount of the consumed materials to meet the goal of fewer costs and shorter planning time when giving attention to the facade of the building at the same time.
