台灣木工機械產業研發策略與趨勢-中小企業建構創新研發核心能力之研究

摘要

本研究之研究者自1990年起經營以銷售優質台灣木工機械的國際貿易公司迄今，對於台灣木工機械產業的發展與當前所面對的嚴峻挑戰有著相當體會!而研發是企業增強競爭力的主要途徑，根據2011年機械產業年鑑統計，台灣機械業研發經費佔營收比重只有0.24%，企業本身投入不足加上能運用於研發的外部資源少，同時在難以取得正確的市場資訊和先進技術發展的窘況下，也讓企業僅能靠本身有限的資源從事產品研發活動，相對於迅速崛起的中國木工機械產業，台灣木工機械企業必須找出創新研發策略因應。
本研究將利用麥可波特在競爭優勢一書裡提到的企業價值鏈的觀念來分析企業的研發活動所需跨部門、跨領域的核心能力，並以木工機械研發實務個案為研究基礎，利用價值鏈模型分析以辨識出個案木工機械企業的研發核心能力及中小企業在研發活動中與企業價值鏈的關聯，並運用不同類型的價值鏈鏈結分析引導出創新的研發策略，最後由各大國際專業展覽的參訪紀錄，以歸納台灣木工機械未來的研發趨勢。

The researcher has established an international trading company to promote Taiwanese high-quality woodworking machinery since 1990 and has identified the challenges faced by Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Industry. In general, R&D is the best way to enhance competitiveness for an enterprise. However, according to 2011 Machinery Industry Yearbook, Taiwanese machinery industry R&D expenditures accounted for only 0.24% of revenue. The inadequate investment in the enterprise itself and fewer applicable externally R&D resources, coupled with difficulties of obtaining useful market information and advanced technology all make the enterprises can only rely on their own limited resources to engaged in product R&D activities. Taiwanese Woodworking Machinery enterprises must find out the innovative R&D strategies to cope with the rapid growth of Chinese woodworking machinery industry.
This research will follow the value chain concept described by Michael E. Porter in the book “Competitive Advantage” to analyze the interdepartmental and interdisciplinary core competencies for R&D activities of an enterprise. By using value chain analysis model to analyze practical R&D case studies in the woodworking machinery territory to recognize R&D core competencies of Taiwan woodworking machinery enterprise and the relevance for enterprise value chain with SMEs’ R&D activities. Then, several enterprise value chain linkages will be analyzed to lead to innovative R&D straragems. Finally, this research conclude with the R&D trend for Taiwan woodworking machinery by reviewing many major international woodworking machinery exhibition summaries.
