可變式互動介面應用於數位電視遙控之研究

摘要


對於多數人們來說,電視已是生活中不可多或缺的重要服務,從類比電視演變至逐較普及的數位電視,相關硬體的進步也是促成電視服務數位化的必要因素。而在這數位化的過程中,不少學者專家投入相關研究,期使數位電視能有最佳的服務效果貢獻於人類,因此,各種訊號傳輸或影像品質等標準就逐漸被各專業組織或相關廠商所制定,也成就了現今的高品質數位化電視服務。 長久以來,遙控器一直是人們使用電視時不可或缺的輸入裝置,經過數年來的發展,雖然電視服務已成功地數位化,但一般電視遙控器的進步似乎只是按鍵的增加而已,因為受限於固定製成外型的按鍵容納空間,電視遙控的功能鮮少有重大的進步與改變。這對於即將到來的網路電視或互動電視服務而言,容易造成使用者在操作與輸入上的困擾,進而也可能限制了相關服務的發展性。 因為電視遙控器是電視服務的重要輸入裝置,因此,本研究基於一般遙控器的手持式特性,結合使用量逐年遞增的智慧型行動裝置,提出以新型電視遙控服務取代傳統電視遙控的數種架構,並以可變式互動介面與裝置間通訊為主要發展基礎,以解除傳統電視搖控器被固定外型約束的限制,更進而發展出兼融行動電視服務與多人互動的數位電視服務架構,這些都是目前的數位電視服務環境無法提供的。 本研究的最大特點在於改進了傳統電視設備與遙控裝置的硬體限制並提出符合人們使用的電視搖控服務架構,讓使用者可以利用日常使用的行動裝置,操作可隨電視節目內容而變化操作介面的遙控服務,讓節目內容的設計能提供更多互動給使用者;此外,更針對整合行動電視與家用電視服務提供了有效的施行架構,得以減少使用者在不同裝置間使用電視服務時的操作程序。而本研究也針對多人互動的需要改變了傳統只能一人操作的電視遙控,讓多位使用者可以在本研究提出的架構下觀賞同一電視節目並進行互動,這都是未來的網路電視與互動電視等相關服務需要的基礎。

TV is one of the most important home appliances and the remote controller is a crucial TV input device. TV remote controllers have always been designed with TV appliances in mind, with little concern for TV programs or ease of use. This is a serious limitation to the development of digital TV services, such as iTV (interactive TV). Mobile video services have become more convenient for users’ mobility. However, they are limited in the quality of the video. Users have become accustomed to watching videos played on bigger displays, such as TVs. IPTV is a system that provides digital TV services by using Internet Protocol over a network infrastructure. Although the two kinds of video services are applied in users’ different contexts, the processes of service transfer are less convenient when users change their contexts. In this study, several new frameworks based on distributed processing are proposed, in which a mobile video service can be integrated into iTV services via context transfer, and then handheld devices can continue to serve users with a cooperative remote control service. This involves cooperation between different devices and services for users’ contexts. In the proposed frameworks, users can make good use of handheld devices in mobile video services, cooperative video services, and remote control services in a smart home. This study considers the proposed frameworks can integrate different digital TV services to provide users a more convenient life.
