The scaffold system is indispensable to the temporary structure in structural engineering. Scaffold’s load-carrying capacities were analyzed by using the existed standard and examples in related literatures. In this study, the steel pipe scaffolds were simulated by pushover analysis and buckling analysis to estimate their capacities. According to National Standard of the Republic of China, CNS 4750, A2067 and Safety and Health Law, the related buckling experiment results in literatures were compared by ETABS and SAP 2000 analyses to make sure the accuracy of the analyses. By using different load combination, steel pipe scaffolds’ buckling load and limit load were analyzed. Then, the model having the good behavior in buckling and pushover analyses were chosen. The multiple-story and multiple-bay structures with the chosen model were used in pushover analyses. The simple type of scaffold is suggested to be adopted in construction engineering.
