Digital audio broadcasting (DAB) is a broadcasting system that is based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and it has ability to provide higher quality services. The multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technique applied to OFDM becomes a powerful technique that is called MIMO-OFDM. In this paper, we proposed a simple DAB system for performance analysis. Based on this architecture of DAB, we apply the space-frequency block coding (SFBC) on it. Therefore, we show the performance can be enhanced after the DAB combine with the MIMO system and also decode the received data successfully in Rayleigh channel. We also concatenate the RS-code as outer code, and show the performance was improved in our simulation result. In this paper, we also discuss the WiMAX system. It is because the DAB and the WiMAX based on OFDM system. Their algorithms of baseband are similar to each other.
