美規數位電視8-VSB等化器設計

摘要


近年來數位電視蓬勃發展,對於電視產業來說,為一革命性的變革,且此一新科技之應用發展為一時代的趨勢,將改變我們二十一世紀的生活型態;歐美早在多年前即投入此一領域的研究,也相繼制定了不同的數位電視傳輸標準。歐洲採用DVB的標準,而美國則是制定了ATSC標準。本論文主要在探討美規數位電視接收端等化器之硬體實現,藉由 verilog 硬體描述語言模擬與 Modelsim 驗證,並採用近二十年最重要的最小均方 (LMS)演算法作係數的調整,並配合訓練序列(Training Sequence)及盲目演算法(SAG or GPEA-S)計算等化器輸出的誤差,來針對時變通道做等化器係數更新。

The digital TV grows vigorously in recent years. With regard to industry of the TV, it brings a revolutionary change. The application of this new science and technology develops into the trend in the future, and it will change the type of our life in the 21st century. America and Europe invested in the research of this field promptly as early as many years ago. They also stipulated several different television transmission standards successively. Europe adopts the standard of DVB, but U.S.A. has stipulated the standard of ATSC. This paper focus on the hardware architecture of the high-definition television (HDTV) equalizers of the standard of ATSC implemented by very-high-speed integration circuit (VHSIC) hardware description language (VHDL). We adopt the least mean square (LMS) algorithm which has been a workstone of adaptive equalization algorithms for the last two decades. And we also use training sequence and blind algorithm (SGA or GPEA-S) to calculate equalized output error, and update coefficients of the equalizer in accordance with time-varying channel.
