在MPLS VPN網路中BGP路由反射之研究

摘要


虛擬私有網路(Virtual Private Network ; VPN)是近年來網路應用中最受矚目的營運模式。而隨著MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching)技術的興起,MPLS VPN已成為熱門的研究議題。BGP/MPLS VPN是屬於第三層MPLS VPN技術,主要使用BGP(Border Gateway Protocol)在骨幹網路中進行路由資訊交換,因為BGP路由器必須遵循水平切分(Split Horizon)規則,所以每部PE路由器需要建立邏輯上的完全網狀(Full-Mesh)拓撲,以至於造成骨幹網路與PE路由器的負擔。 本論文將透過模擬BGP/MPLS VPN網路,引進路由反射技術來降低骨幹網路中PE路由器的BGP會談數目,並評估其效益。我們試著不同路由反射器的部署,從模擬結果發現增加路由反射器可以進一步分散路由反射器的工作負擔,但總體網路會增加少許的BGP會談數目。

Virtual private network (VPN) is a business mode which in the recent years has received much attention in the network application .With the growing maturity of the Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology, MPLS VPN has become a hot issue. BGP/MPLS VPNs belong to the layer three MPLS VPN technology. It use BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) to exchange the route information in the backbone network .Because BGP routers must follow the Split Horizon rule, therefore each PE (Provider Edge) router needs to establish the Full-Mesh logical topology. This places burden on the backbone network and the PEs. This thesis simulates the BGP/MPLS VPN network to evaluate the benefits of route reflection, which is used to reduce the number of PE’s BGP sessions in the backbone network. We try several allocations of the route reflectors. The simulation results show that increasing the number of route reflectors helps to distribute the processing loading among the route reflectors with the price of mild increase of the total number of BGP sessions.
