本研究主題是探討觸覺符號結合語音功能對於視障者在符號辨識時間與符號辨識正確率的績效,研究規劃語音與無語音兩組模型,並結合九種浮凸的觸覺符號來進行實驗,採用完全隨機方式來測試受測者語音對於符號辨識時間與符號辨識正確率的影響。本研究分為兩階段,第一階段以「外出問題與使用公共設施」問卷對視障者進行訪談,問卷受測者共有28位,男性19位,女性9位,以「常使用公共設施」與「對語音功能結合觸覺符號的需求」這兩項調查結果作為實驗用辨識符號的參考來源;第二階段「語音式觸覺符號辨識實驗」受測者一共36位,其中視障者18位,男性16位、女性2位;矇眼人18位,男性11位、女性7位,實驗結果發現,加入語音效果的觸覺符號在辨識正確率上比沒有加入語音效果的觸覺符號的辨識正確率高;視力程度、點字訓練兩因子不影響符號辨識時間與正確率,驗證加入語音效果可即時協助視障者提高符號辨識的正確率。研究結果可作為日後對語音結合觸覺地圖或是教學用語音教材的規劃設計參考。
The subject of this study is to inquire into the performance of the visually impaired inrecognition time and recognition accuracy about tactile symbols combined with phonic functions. The study conducts a experiment by planning two sets of model, one with and one without phonic assistance, and using nine kinds of embossed tactile symbol. A totally random method is adopted to test the influence of speech voice on subjects’symbol recognition time and symbol recognition accuracy. The study is divided into two stages. At the first stage, a questionnaire named“Difficulties Encountered While Going Out and the Use of Public Facilities”is designed to interview the visually impaired. There are 28 interviewees and the results of the questionnaire survey are used as a reference source for the recognition symbols to be used in the experiment.At the second stage,there are 36 subjects attending“The Experiment on Phonic Tactile Symbols Recognition”,18 of whom are visually impaired and the other 18 are blindfolded. The experiment results indicate that the recognition accuracy in tactile symbols with phonic effect is higher than that of those without phonic effect. By contrast, the other two factors, subjects’ vision and whether they have received braille training, have no influence on symbol recognition time and accuracy. That proves that phonic effect can immediately help increase the accuracy in symbol recognition. The result of this study can be utilized as a reference to plan and design phonic tactile map or relevant teaching materials.
