The purposes of this study are to investigate the relationships among parent marital relationship, father involvement and father-child relationship based on the perceptions of high grade primary students, and to explore the predictability of father-child relationship by parent marital relationship and father involvement. This study employed three instruments including “Parent Marital Relationship based on Primary Students’ Perceptions”, “Father Involvement Scale” and “Father-Child Relationship Scale” to 986 high grade primary students in Tainan. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, step-wise multiple regression. The major findings are as follows. 1.The perceptions of parent marital relationship were positive, where in “solidarity tendency” has the highest score and “emotion expression” has the lowest score respectively. 2.The perceptions of father involvement were insufficient, where in “life care” has the highest score and “school activity participation” has the lowest score respectively. 3.The perceptions of father-child relationship were above middle-level where in “independence” has the highest score and ‘friendship interaction’ has the lowest score respectively. 4.There were significant differences in parent marital relationship based on gender, father's age and family structure. 5.There were significant differences in father involvement and father-child relationship based on gender, the numbers of siblings, birth order, father's age and family structure. 6.Parent marital relationship and father involvement could effectively predict father-child relationship. Finally, some suggestions for high grade primary students, parents, schools, family educators and future research were proposed according to the results of this study.
