本研究以關懷大學教師的角度切入,探討薰衣草精油按摩改善大學教師之睡眠品質並提供改善方式。本研究為實驗研究設計,立意取樣法,以匹茲堡睡眠品質量表(Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index; PSQI)為主要睡眠品質的評估工具,研究對象為南部某科技大學專任教師,以睡眠品質評估量表評量結果較大(有潛在睡眠品質問題)者為參與者。 睡眠品質評估量表結果顯示,受測者之睡眠品質於實施薰衣草精油按摩後第一週、第二週、第三週均達顯著水準改善,且停止實施薰衣草精油按摩一個月後之第八週仍保持顯著水準改善,證實精薰衣草油按摩能改善大學教師的睡眠品質,藉以此提供大學教師的舒壓保健方式。
The improvement on the sleep quality using massage with lavender essential oil was studies to provide a potential solution in stress release for the professors in universities. This study was carefully designed with sleep quality evaluated using Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) with sampling from designated group from professors in a university in southern Taiwan whose PSQI is significant high (with potential problem in sleep quality). The PSQI results show significant improvement in sleep quality after applied massage with lavender essential oil for 1, 2, and 3 weeks. The improvement even keeps significant after the treatment was stopped after 1 month. These results confirm that the massage with lavender essential oil can release the pressure of the university teachers and improve their sleep quality.
