摘要


最早出現象形文字,從單純的圖畫敘事演變為後期的文字,以圖像來看,圖像敘事為具象,文字敘事為抽象,因為圖像是由視覺直接接收,因此比較能直覺式反應,在一種認知中,符號是指一定意義的意象,可以是圖像、文字組合,為了傳達某種感知性概念,將融入作者自我意識的符號結合在一起,成為完整性與故事性的作品。 研究能力提升,抽出本身既有的模式,轉化為另一種能量。頭腦裡的記憶,有許多檔案匣,裝著許許多多回憶,當需開啟舊檔案時,左右不定,選擇面對或逃避?人生事件的累積,包含家人、朋友、社會及傳統的種種體驗感受,透過反思來了解作者之前就在那裡了。尤其是以對作者自我認同的認知需要更多的訓練與學習,作者不斷與自己的內心意向互動,就像接受審問的囚犯,逼迫作者供出對生命與內心解讀。縱使面臨超越邊界墬落死亡的危險,依然堅持下去,是為了確知自我如何不同,讓作者實現自我最大意義。

Pictograms offer us a glimpse on the evolution of modern written texts. From simple narrative pictures in the beginning to that of the contemporary varieties, we see texts transitioning away from the use of representational symbols to that of abstract conceptual reasoning. Consequently, pictures or icons are at times far more intuitive for the brain to cognitively process as they may signal a multitude of signifiers that readily combine with language. To convey certain perceptual concepts, the author seeks to combine and utilize his own unique set of self-conscious semiotics with his art practice in order to produce an integrated narration. With an increasing aptitude in research capability, there comes an alteration and elicitation of the original mental framework. Memories accumulate much like the file folders in a computer only to face hesitation when the time comes to recover them. Within a compilation of lived events, elements such as family, colleagues, society and tradition all merge together in the author's reflection as he ponders about his original stance. Especially of concern is the author's investigation for his self-identity and recognition. This “training” process may best be described as an arduous self-trial and self-interrogation where the author must surrender his most intimate insights on life. Even when faced with the risk of a transcendental death, the author must endure, knowing that the outcome of this trial will produce an eventual self-realization along with his meaningful uniqueness.
