The main purpose of this thesis is to explore concrete and effective strategies to promote the morale of junior high school counselors in Taichung City by studying the factors affecting the morale of the junior high school counselors in Taichung City. The research method adopted in this thesis is to investigate 460 junior high school counselors in Taichung City and then conduct the research by questionnaires. The data gathered are analyzed by descriptive statistic method, t-test independent samples, one-way ANOVA and Pearson Correlation with SPSS 12.0. The major conclusions are drawn from the aforementioned analysis. Firstly, the morale of junior high school counselors in Taichung is beyond the average. Secondly, counselors who have a bachelor degree from normal universities have the highest morale, compared with those who from other universities or have master degree. Then, the chief counselors averagely show higher morale. Moreover, counselors who have been teachers more than 21 years have significantly high morale. At last, with parents’ support, concern more about counselors’ physical as well as mind condition, and have more counselors will help raise their morale. The result of the research aims to provide an initial conceptual version for researchers and school administrators to stimulate further research.
