Abstract The main purpose of this study is to explore the correlation between leisure satisfaction and leisure constraints of college staff in Taichung County and City. There is a survey of current situations in those two aspects. The survey uses the method of proportionate nonrandom sampling and the sampling is based on the proportion of staff in each school. There are 925 questionnaires given to the subjects and 832 valid questionnaires are collected. The percentage of valid questionnaires is 89.95%. In order to achieve this study’s objective and testify hypotheses of independent samples, this study uses statistics methods like descriptive statistics, independent t test, one-way ANOVA, and canonical correlation to analyze data. Further, based on the research results, this study proposes conclusions and practical suggestions. . The main conclusions of this study are as follows: 1. Concerning college staff’s leisure satisfaction, staff displays the highest satisfaction in the aspect of the “relaxation factor” and the overall satisfaction is at the high-intermediate level. 2. As for college staff’s leisure constraints, staff gets the highest level of constraint in the aspect of “structure constraint” and the overall constraint is at the intermediate level. 3. With regard to college staff’s leisure satisfaction, staff members with different backgrounds in variables like school, gender, age, education level, marital status, and years of service differ greatly. 4. Regarding college staff’s leisure constraints, staff members with different backgrounds in variables like school, gender, age, education level, marital status, and years of service differ greatly. 5. With respect to college staff’s leisure satisfaction and constraints, there is a canonical correlation and the canonical correlation factor reaches a significant level.
