Nowadays the “rehabilitation” is mostly used to improve the delay of the disease progression and physical degradation within the long-term care facilities in Taiwan. But it is a very difficult and arduous process for the patients who need long-term rehabilitation. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the view of the professional rehabilitation staff on the use of the multi-media rehabilitation equipment in Taichung facility, in order to indicate the impact of the long-term rehabilitation personnel on the rehabilitation equipment with multi-media capabilities in the future. This study was cross-sectional studies using the self-structured questionnaire as the survey tool. The sample was solicited from the occupational therapists (assistants) and physical therapists (assistants) agreed (consent, 44) at Taichung County special rehabilitation units (78). The questionnaire data was collecting by mail. Totally, 360 questionnaires, 157 questionnaires were practical. The effective rate was about 43.6%. Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that there was positive related between the professional rehabilitation staff and the traditional rehabilitation equipment with the voice (r = 0.114), the screen text motivation (r = 0.070), and competition (interaction, connection) (r = 0.019). It displayed that the professional rehabilitation staff think that the outcome of the rehabilitation was much effective on the traditional rehabilitation equipment with the multimedia effects such as the voice, the screen text motivation, and competition (interaction, connection). In addition, the professional rehabilitation staff also thought that there was positive correlation between the multimedia capabilities and the fine motor of the rehabilitation equipment(r = 0.065). Thus, the professional rehabilitation staff thought that the traditional rehabilitation equipment associated with multimedia capabilities can enhance the effectiveness of fine motor. This study is the first study in Taiwan focus on the point of view on the professional rehabilitation staff (physical / occupational therapists, assistants). This study intended to explore and analysis the concept of the traditional rehabilitation equipment associated with the multimedia. The results can be used as a reference on rehabilitation equipment with additional multimedia capabilities in the future, and be able to enhance the interest and effectiveness of the rehabilitation for the long-term rehabilitation.
