Children’s masticatory performance was usually overlooked because dentists and parents dominantly take care about the problems of caries and malocclusion. Bite force is one of the most important factor among the factors that influencing masticatory performance. In fact, severe caries and malocclusion might influence masticatory performance and the bite force will eventually become weaker. To make matters worse, the problems of unbalanced diet and malnutrition will develop. In order too avoid and prevent these problems earlier, pediatric dentists ought to measure the bite forces of children periodically. This report summarized the normal values of the bite force and the associated influencing factors.
