The lips play important roles in chewing, articulation, facial expression and esthetics. Therefore, repair of lip defects requires special considerations. Because of the proximity to the lip defect, local flaps based on buccal tissue can be used for the reconstruction. In this report, a squamous cell carcinoma of the lower lip was excised and then repaired. The full thickness defect of the entire lower lop following tumor excision was reconstructed with bilateral inferiorly based rotational nasolabial flaps. This method was found to be excellent in their ability to restore function and esthetics of the lower lip and also relatively simple in technique. Therefore, we considered this method a valuable technique in reconstruction of such large lower lip defect.
