Ludwig's angina is an acute cellulitis. The bilateral submental, sublingual and submandbular spaces are all involved with pain, trismus and tongue elevation. Impending respiratory obstruction maybe occurred. The most important object in the management of Ludwig's angina is the maintenance of the airway. Six cases of Ludwig's angina are presented followed by a discussion of the methods of airway management with emphasis on endotracheal intubation and surgical drainage.
