淺談馬來西亞華文教育與馬來西亞華人的自我認同

A study on the Chinese Education and Chinese Self-identity in Malaysia

摘要

馬來西亞華文教育在發展的過程之中，面對的不單單只是教育問題，更是政治、民族等多方面的課題。它從創辦初期至今，就一直與中國脫不了關係。它的歷史可以說是馬來西亞華人自我認同轉換的最佳寫照。因此，本文試圖將馬來西亞華文教育歷史與大馬當地和中國近代政局的演變做連結，探討馬來西亞華人在創辦華文教育的初期是如何受到中國局勢的影響，而在馬來西亞獨立之後，華文教育又是面對了什麼樣的困難與處境。

Chinese education in Malaysia is an issue not only pertaining to education, but also pertaining to politics, race and other problem. From its start until now, Chinese education in Malaysia is closely related to China. In fact, we can say that the history of Malaysian Chinese education is the best illustration of the changing self-identity of Malaysian Chinese. So, this study is trying to connect the history of Malaysia Chinese education with the history of China since 1800s, exploring how the political situations in China effected Malaysian Chinese education at its early phase, and what kind of problems and plights confronted Malaysian Chinese education after Malaysia became independent from UK.
