Sleep disorder commonly occurred in uremic patients and patient of chronic kidney disease stage 4 and 5, these including insomnia, excessive sleepiness, sleep apnea, and restless legs syndrome. The prevalence of above problems are ranges from 19 to 70%, 31 to 77%, more than 50%, and 14 to 57% respectively. The prevalence also significantly higher than patients without chronic kidney disease. These problems are always ignored by clinical staff. Sleep disorder not only effect life quality of chronic kidney disease, it also increase mortality & morbidity of chronic kidney disease patients, and medical expenses and social cost. Hence, sleep disorder is an important topic in chronic disease patient.
