This report is to disclosure the physiological and psychological care experience of a patient with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease proceeding the initial peritoneal dialysis. Under the evaluated structure of the Gordon 11 Function Health Patterns, these health problems of this patient are confirmed: potential risk infections associated, pain, and lack of knowledge. Through active care and establishing a good relationship with the patient, providing individual care from nursing and physician team, the patient eventually had improved self-care ability back to daily life within the prevention of peritoneal dialysis catheter implantation and infection, solving the problem of pain and understanding of peritoneal dialysis and then the correct implementation of peritoneal dialysis.
