This article introduces the current status of home hemodialysis treatment in Taiwan. Professor Chiu-Ching Huang of our hospital began to promote home hemodialysis in 2008. Because home hemodialysis is more complicated than home peritoneal dialysis, the training time is also longer than home peritoneal dialysis. So far, 22 patients have received home hemodialysis training. The complicated operation process and long training time are the main reasons for the slow increase in the number of trainees at present. It is hoped that through this experience sharing, the knowledge and skills of medical staff in training uremia patients to perform home hemodialysis treatment will be improved, and the quality of life of uremia patients will be improved and the complications of dialysis will be reduced.
