In the field of information systems management, there are many studies concerning the human resource management of Management Information System(MIS) professional personnel. 1-lowever, there have been very few studies in this field in Taiwan. For this reason a survey of MIS managers in large enterprises in Taiwan was conducted to gain an understanding of their human resource management systems and related issues. Within these systems six topics are analyzed: recruitment, promotion, salary, benefits, education and training and career management. Regarding the issues this study examines six dimensions: education and training, motivation! productivity, human resource planning, career development, salary! evaluation, and recruitment. In this study eighty—eight questionnaires were received and analyzed, thereby providing many important findings to the researchers and to managers in Taiwan.
