摘要
遺傳工程於七○年代興起，生命科學研究因而產生重大革命。從此，不同生物的遺傳法因可以交流甚而表現，基因構造得以更深入分析。生物技術產業成為高科技投資的寵兒，舉世各國競相發展。由於實驗技術不斷創新，其衍生的應用與問題波及經濟、政治、法律、倫理乃至人權等各方面，無論政府或個人都必須認眞面對，並深思解決之道。

Genetic engineering was originated in the 1970s. Since that time the basic research of life science have revolutionized greatly. Through this novel technique, genetic material can be exchanged between different organisms and fine genetic structure can be further analyzed. The industry of biotechnology boomed and became a crucial part of global trend for high-technology. At the same time, derivatives and applications of genetic engineering cause new problems in economy, politics, law, ethics and even human right. None can escape the influence of this new technology.
