通識教育與意外事件的預防

摘要

國內因環境與社會之變遷，造成各類意外與傷害養生的大幅增加。在近年來已成為最重要的死因之一，且因其所造成死亡與傷殘的對象大多為相當年輕的人，其對於社會與經濟所造成的影響十分鉅大。本文例舉各類意外與傷害的發生情況，指出國民對於意外處理與傷害預防的一般知識的缺乏。強調將「意外與傷害預防」納入我國通識教育之重要性。本文亦初步提出「意外與傷害預防」課程規劃與可能的內容範圍“期望透過此一課程的設立與納入通識教育，可讓大學生將安全的觀念與傷害的預防融入日常生活，更了解自身與其所處之環境之問的關聯，能生活於現代社會而善知何以自處。並希望大學生能在社會中發揮他們的影響力，利用他們對安全與傷害預防的觀念與訓練，誰動一個更安全祥和的社會。

Accidents and injuries are increasing in the past few decades due to the environmental and societal changes in Taiwan area. Mortality from injuries has become one of the leading causes of death since the 1980s. Since the average age in mortality associated with injury is rather young, injury causes significant impact on the economy and society. The most important causes of injuries in Taiwan have been traffic and occupational, most of which are predictable and preventable and are known to be associated with risk-taking and lack of protection. Therefore, education can be an effective measure to reduce the rate of injuries in the whole society Considering the importance of injury prevention, I propose to include the concept of safety, and injury prevention and control into the general education for college students. If the concept of injury prevention and control can be incorporated into college education, and that the college students act as the advocates of safety and injury reduction, the whole society will become a safer place to live and work.
