Lieh-Nu-Chuan (Biographies of Chinese Women), by the Han author Liu Xiang(B.C. 80-9), is a didactic text with biographies of women. In view of traditional women education, it is acknowledged as a classic. This research employs the theories and methodology of history education in exploring Lieh-Nu-Chuan as course material for general education. Focusing on the historical and biographical nature of Lieh-Nu-Chuan, the researcher discusses the objectives and value of history education as a core course in general studies.
