Rediscovery of the Freshwater Shrimp Caridina brevicarpalis De Man, 1892 (Crustacea: Decapoda: Atyidae) in Southern Taiwan

This study reports the discovery of a stable population of freshwater shrimp Caridina brevicarpalis de Man, 1892, in southern Taiwan following an 80 year absence since its single specimen collection in 1923. We described its physical characteristics, coloration, and the environmental conditions it was found inhabiting. Color pictures were also provided.
