A New Record of the Sea Hare Stylocheilus striatus (Quoy & Gaimard, 1832) (Gastropoda, Anaspidea, Aplysiidae) from Taiwan

摘要

海兔為海兔科Aplysiidae的一種海蛞蝓，此類海蛞蝓廣泛出現於全世界海域的潮間帶與亞潮帶區域，但是在台灣有關此類物種的研究相當的少。我們在南台灣潮間帶發現了條紋柱唇海兔Stylocheilus striatus (Quoy & Gaimard 1832)，此為台灣一新紀錄物種。此外，關於此條紋柱唇海兔與長尾柱唇海兔S. longicauda (Quoy & Gaimard, 1824)的鑑定問題也在這個研究中被討論。

Sea hares, also known as sea slugs, belong to family Aplysiidae and are very common in intertidal and subtidal areas of the ocean around the world. Yet, very little research is being conducted on this group in Taiwan. Some individuals of species Stylocheilus striatus (Quoy & Gaimard, 1832) were found in southern Taiwan. In this study, we document the first report of S. striatus from Taiwan and discuss its misclassification as a similar species, S. longicauda (Quoy & Gaimard, 1824).
