In this study, we aim to find the relation between the soil's shear resistance and root mechanical reinforcement. Root-soil mechanical behavior will respond to the loading by root stretching, root slipping, and root breaking. In order to verify the correctness of the analytical methods, the data of experiments of barley available in literature was used. From the analytical solutions of the root-soil mechanical method, we find the main effect of the root reinforcement in saturated fine-textured soil is the strength of the soil-root bound rather than root breaking. With a view to increasing the shear strength of the soil, the grassed plants, which can be deep-rooted in soil and suitable for planting in domestic climate and the environment, is recommended for ecology engineering in this study.
