The characteristics and problems of the advanced periodontal-prosthetic patients differ from the patients requiring conventional crown and bridge. When designing a definitive prosthesis for these patients, factors such as the prognosis of the abutment teeth, distribution of the abutment, periodontal attachment levels, croWn root ratio and the requirements of splinting must be taken into consideration. The type of restoration to be used, whether fixed or a combination fixed and removable prosthesis influences the design of the prosthesis. Because of this, certain guidelines for restoation design are mentioned in this article. We are also discussed subgingival contours, provisional restoration, final impression, occlusal adjustment and final cementation to assure successful results.
