Mucus retention in small airway in chronic asthmatic patients is a common problem after appropriate the patient having received medical treatment. This is also one of the factors which lead to dyspnea and exercise intolerance. In addition to peak flow self-management course, this patient received a teaching program which was reinforced with breathing retraining and autogenic drainage. The positive expiratory pressure tube was also incorporated with autogenic drainage. After two months follow-up, the frequency of emergency room attending and night cough were decreased. Furthermore, the expiratory flow rate, the stability of airway, exercise tolerance, and oxygenation during exercise significantly increased.
