Poor control of patients with chronic obstruction pulmonary disease (COPD) often readmit to hospital which increase the burden of medical resources. With advances in medical technology, telemonitoring has a trend of reducing hospitalization rate. The factors reducing hospitalization rate included duration of telemonitoring more than 12 months, severe and very severe COPD, efficient telemonitoring modalities, and add-on appropriate interventional behaviors. In addition, telemonitoring also has a trend of reducing medical expenses. Respiratory therapists could actively participate in telemonitoring and interventions in the future. Consequently, it will affect the hospitalization rates, thereby lower the medical burden.
