The study was designed to explore the healing process of Nature Experience Group Activities when applying to the patients with chronic schizophrenic. The group activities included 90 minute-group-activities per week for 8 courses totally, and were implemented from 10th March to 28th April 2009. Each course contained environmental experience, geographic textures explore, and supportive group therapy. Researcher selected 26 patients and collected their self-report inventory, the record of group therapy, the photos of activities, the assigned homework, the research diary, and the parents-feedback sheet from each course for data analysis. Study outcome revealed that there are five main responses among the chronic schizophrenic patients through this Nature Experience Group Activities. As the results revealed, the healing process may involve 5 phases: (a) to open sensory, (b) to re-focus on self, (c) to make friends with nature, (d) to inspire independence, and finally. (e) to take self-healing actions. Furthermore, this study found out that ”perceptional experience” and ”personal qualitative changes” were two potential factors for forming the patients' self-healing process in these group activities.
