A Study of a College Management Information System-The Design of a Withdrawal-Alerting System

摘要

本研究分析了學生遭受退學的可能原因，主要是因學業成績或操行成績兩者未達標準，這兩個退學原因，是可以預先防範的，因此本研究實際製作了一個多功能的預警系統，針對下列4種可能造成退學的狀況提出預警：1.可能達到2/3學分數不及格。2.可能連續二學期達到1/2學分數不及格。3.曠課時數已經超過40節課。4.操行成績已經低於62分。另外，系統也提供每一科目期中成績的相對性（百分等級）與絕對性（名次）評比指標，以及期末考成績的最低建議分數。系統所提供的各項預警訊息，有助於學生產生警覺，勤勉向學，減少曠缺課；也有助於老師的輔導工作。

This study analyzes the withdrawal factors of college students and induces two major factors that are grade is below the standard and moral educational score is below the standard. In order to give alerting messages, this study develops a management information system that can give warning messages for the following 4 possible withdrawal reasons:1. 2/3 of credits is down.2. 1/2 of credits is down for continuing 2 semesters.3. Absent from classes for more than 40 hours4. The moral educational score is lower than 62.Besides, the system also gives a relative ranking pointer, an absolute ranking pointer, and a suggestion minimum final exam score for each subject. Hopefully these messages can help students and teachers to decrease the withdrawal rate.
