In this paper, we study the .suboptimal multiuser detection techniques and two suboptimal multiuser detection algorithms for W-CDMA system are proposed. Both the computation load and memories needed by these two algorithms are linearly proportional to the user number of the system. On the other, these algorithms are nonlinear search maximum-likelihood algorithms. One can use the result obtained by correlation method or the other (linear or nonlinear suboptimal multiuser detection) algorithm as the initial guess needed in our algorithms to obtain the more accurate result in advance.
