Treatment of tracheal stenosis is broadly divided into surgical resection with reconstruct-tion and endoscopic surgery. Endoscopic dilation surgery is much safer than traditional surgical intervention. However, it had limitations, especially in cases of severe stenosis with scar formation. We report on a 51-yeart-old male with tracheal cancer, who received radiotherapy and several courses of bronchoscopy with laser. Unfortunately, recurrent tracheal stenosis with dyspnea developed because of severe scar formation. We implanted a tracheal stent after dilating tracheal stenosis and respiratory distress improved there-after. During the 6-month OPD follow-up, no evidence of recurrent tracheal stenosis was found. Tracheal stenting is effective in our preliminary experience with this case. It is an alternative in the treatment of tracheal stenosis.
