Nasogastric tube insertion is one of the most common procedures performed in the daily hospital practice. It is usually easy and rarely does harms. Some complications have been reported, but nasogastric tube knotting is a rare one. We presented an unusual case that a nasogastric tube was found knotting in the pulled-up gastric bulb of a post-esophagectomy patient. The predisposing factors, diagnosis and management of nasogastric tube knotting were discussed and the associated literature was reviewed. Our experience in endoscopic management of such complications was also presentsd.
