The demand for the speech quality of communication products is an important issue for product development. The communication products must be tested in different application environments, but it costs lots of time and manpower to test on-site. It will be cost down to test communication products in a simulated background noise environment that created in the laboratory. Semi-anechoic room is a standard acoustic test room and it has a good transmission loss for outside noise. The purpose of this research is to study the application of background noise reconstruction in the semi-anechoic room. Systematic experiments are designed to investigate the difference of original sound field and reconstructed sound field by changing position of sound source and position of recording. The aim is to create a background noise test environment for communication products on R&D stage.
