Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a congenital lesion of dysplastic vascular origin with large feeding arteries causing decreased vascular resistance. Surgical excision of a AVM may be indicated for cosmetic or some urgent complications, such as high output cardiac failure, bleeding or ulceration of the overlying skin. The high recurrence rate after excision and progressive nature often result in a frustration. We present a case of a massive AVM located at the neck. The lesion was excised and the bed was covered with latissimus dorsi muscle flap and skin graft. Although the followup period is not long enough for making conclusion, the result is encouraging after22months.
