Explore the accuracy of health monitor in aging population through wearable device

Aging is a natural and inevitable process. As the medical costs associated with aging have risen steadily over the past decades, many researchers have sought alternative ways to treat conditions caused or induced by aging. While exercise has been shown to effectively delay aging and prevent aging-related medical problems, individuals vary in many ways, and incorrect exercise could actually cause damages to human body. Therefore, it is better if individuals conduct exercise with professional trainers to prevent physical damages, but doing so would drastically increase the staffs required and thus the medical costs. Fortunately, the technological advancement fast, and the developments of wearable physiological and monitoring devices, ordinary people can detect their physiological changes without going through invasive monitoring. In this project, we propose to collect the heart rate information in the elderly, through continuing monitoring of individual physiological and biological indicators. We seek to observe significant correct information shown on MI band. Our goal to establish the most wearable driver such MI bans to reduce the risk associated with improper exercises and to achieve individualized medical treatment, exercise instruction and health promotion.
