腦水腫引流導管表面改質之專利分析

A Patent Analysis of Surface Modification of Shunts for Hydrocephalus Therapy

摘要


本研究利用Delphion專利資料庫進行Medtronic公司的BioGlide技術相關專利檢索;該技術係在腦脊髓液引流導管表面引入親水性材料以降低導管進入人體管腔時造成的磨擦傷害。在專利分析方法中,以Delphion的企業樹方法獲得Medtronic公司在美國、日本、德國、歐盟及世界專利局登記的專利總數並篩選與導管有關的專利。然後利用文字相似分類篩選出來的專利並與BioGlide技術比對。本研究發現一專利家族與BioGlide技術有關聯,其中以專利號碼US6299980這篇專利為原始專利,該專利利用聚乙烯吡咯烷酮接枝於矽膠導管表面以降低導管表面的摩擦係數。

The present study investigated patents originated from BioGlide technique of Medtronic, Inc. using Delphion database. The technique introduces hydrophilic materials onto the surface of shunt catheter for hydrocephalus therapy in order to minimize the frictional trauma to body orifices and passageways when shunts are inserted to the body. In the patent analytical methods, all patents granted to Medtronic, Inc. in US, Japan, German and WIPO were searched by Corporate Tree approach provided by Delphion database and the patents related to catheter were also screened. Later, the screened patents are further clustered according to Linguistic relationship. The present study found that a patent family may be related to BioGlide technique. The first patent, numbered US6299980 in the family claimed that polyvinyl pyrrolidone coating can effectively lower the friction coefficient of the silicone catheters.
