This study aims to investigate the teaching processes in which teachers integrate information technology into social studies course in the fifth grade of elementary school using action research. Firstly, we designed teaching plans based on methodologies of cooperative learning and value clarification for integration of information technology and social studies in order to implement the action research. During the teaching, teachers observed the performance of students and their learning attitude in order to revise constantly the action research programs. Through every class, teachers recorded the students' performance on learning and feedback forms as references for revised lesson plans and thus enhance the students' interests to achieve teaching objectives. It is found that the post test average rate for experimental group is 90.81, much better than 84.93 of the post test for control group. It is indicated that the integration of information technology with social studies can improve the effectiveness of learning and that different teaching methods are significant to learning outcomes.
