A Secure Credit Card Transaction Process Using Cell Phone Authentication

Credit cards play an important role in our daily lives. However, there are some problems in the current transaction process. In order to overcome the weaknesses in the current process, we propose an improved process that verifies the consumer's legality using cell phone authentication. The proposed process sends a short message to the consumer's cell phone while the transaction is happening. The consumer replies to the message, and the transaction would be accepted. Therefore, the proposed process can ensure that even if the card information is leaked, people cannot use the card expect for the cardholder. It makes the credit card payment more secure. Furthermore, it can also be applied to the payments online.
