This article explores the musical elements in language by analyzing the style and text structure of Wang Wen-hsin's novel-Family Catastrophe. At the beginning of the article some musical masterpieces, such as 「Scheherazade」by Nicolas Andreievitch Rimsky-Korsakov, and 「The Moldau」by Bedrich Smetana, are introduced to show the similarity between language and music. And then the tactics employed to control the rhythm and create the melody in the novel are investigated.
