清儒汪縉《準孟》探析

摘要


清儒汪縉(1725-1792)善為詩、治古文,胸懷天下,有經世濟民之志。其為學出入於儒佛,欲撤兩家之藩而通其閡。常與彭紹升(1740-1796)、薛起鳳(1734-1774)、羅有高(1734-1779)等人交遊,相互講學論道,著有《汪子詩錄》、《汪子文錄》、《汪子二錄》、《汪子三錄》。《準孟》為《汪子三錄》的上錄,其寫作宗旨在「正人心、扶道術、濟民生」,傳孔子至聖之道。汪縉認為孔子之道就是「天道」,由孟子傳承,循之則治世,違之則亂世,這是萬古不變的道理,《三錄》因此而作。他定義《準孟》的「準」字,為「立萬世準則」,也就是說希望《準孟》八篇所闡述的義理能夠成為萬世之準則,可見其立意之深遠。其中以「人心正,道術昌,民生樂,循其道,唐虞三代之治斷可復也」,為他寫作《準孟》的真正目的。
