摘要

瀏覽作為一種人類基本而普遍之資訊行為，其研究在學術上使我們開始重新思考資訊尋求行為的理論架構，在圖畫館實務上，啟發我們重視瀏覽的需要並思考如何更有效地服務瀏覽者，在系統設計上，更可提供我們改善人機介面的依據。本文以文獻分析，探討圖畫資訊學中瀏覽的相關議題，包括瀏覽概念的界說，瀏覽的本質、結果及影響因素之分析，並以對圖畫館服務與資訊系統設計之意涵做結。

Browsing as a concept and an activity appears to be a fundamental part of human information behavior, which takes place in diverse contexts in our daily life. At the theoretical level, research on browsing can extend and develop theories of human information behavior. Practically, there could be suggestions for better organization and representation of information and material displayed as well as for effective information seeking and retrieval. This thesis attempts to explore the browsing phenomenon as it appears in the library and information science literature and end-user computing literature. Topics included for discussion are the definitions of the browsing concept, potential consequences, topology and influential factors of browsing as being identified from the literature analysis.
