以潛在成長模式分析2001-2012台灣旅外職棒球員人數成長變化之研究

This Research of the Latent Growth Model (LGM) to Investigate the Growth of Professional Baseball Players from Taiwan Since 2001 to the 2012

摘要

Purpose of this paper is to explore the growth of 2001-2012 Taiwanese professional Baseball Player in each of the 2 major countries in the world in the past fourteen years, Using the Latent Growth Curve Model (LGM), we analyzed the data from the two countries were used as the predictor in the multiple LGM. Test results has shown that:(1)One variable for the model is the average player of the 2001-2004 year of the NPB and MLB, which was 0.77 Baseball player. The trajectory revealed that the average Baseball player growth from the 2001 to 2012 year was 1.97 Baseball player. The value of the starting point of the curve, i.e. the average player of the 2001-2004 year, was 0.77, while the average value of the trajectory, which showed the baseball player growth, was 1.97. The t-value of these two variables was 3.69 and 7.18, respectively, slope achieved the significant level (p<.05). The Coefficient of Variation of the players starting point and growth were 3.57 and 7.18, respectively. The t-values of these two variables were 3.57 and 2.65, respectively, both of which achieved the significant level (p<.05).(2)NPB and MLB were found to be no significantly related the number of Taiwanese baseball player; the factors accounted for 1.49%-2.03% of the total variance. Suggestions were made in accordance with the result of the study, it is hoped that it can serve as useful reference of government authorities and related planners.
