醫學畢業生申請PGY受訓醫院因素初探

Factors Affecting the Application Choice of Medical Graduates for Postgraduate Year Residency

摘要


目的:探索醫學生申請PGY甄試因素,期許提高日後選擇受訓醫院的意願。研究對象與方法:利用問卷收集2017年1月參加K醫院PGY甄試學員共105份問卷,男女比3:2。以EFA因素分析與迴歸分析,進行因素統計分析。結果:醫學生申請畢業後一般醫學訓練醫院之「甄試意圖」,受醫院主管與醫療團隊互動模式的「非工作訊息」,以及同儕與親友對這家醫院「雇主聲望」的影響達統計顯著。然而「非工作訊息」與「雇主聲望」都不在醫院所提供之甄試資料中,它們通常以口碑傳播(word-of-mouth)方式隱性且重要的影響醫學生參加甄試意願。結論:經營與維持醫院良好口碑,進而深入民心,以提高醫學生參與PGY甄試意願,提供了後續相關研究方向。

Purpose: Discover the Post Graduate Year (PGY) Program apply factors to promote applying intentions in medical students. Research Objective and Methods: We used a questionnaire. We collected 105 responses from PGY student applicants in K hospital. The male to female ratio was 3:2. We used exploratory factor analysis and regression analysis for statistical factor analysis. Results: The "intention to apply" to the PGY program was significantly influenced by both the "nonwork information between the hospital manager and medical team" and the "employer reputation." However, the "nonwork information" and "employer reputation" are not included in the application information of the hospital that students are applying to. Therefore, information transmitted through word-of-mouth considerably affects a student's intention to apply. Conclusions: Our findings provide a novel research direction with regard to promoting interest among medical students in applying to a PGY program. Specifically, word-of-mouth information on hospital management is considerably influences a student's intention to apply to a PGY program.
