Establishing the optimum occlusal vertical dimension (OVD) is critical to fabricating a complete denture that will be harmonious with the patient's oral craniofacial system. The long-time use of a complete denture can result in jaw displacement due to abrasion of the artificial teeth and residual ridge resorption, causing esthetic complications. For the patient who has previously worn dentures, the clinician must determine the OVD based on the clinical presentation. The present clinical report describes a case of re-establishing appropriate OVD and proper denture function of complete dentures.
