People place a high value on healthy life style. Road running activities become more popular in the recent years. But the appearance of road running had been changed because wearable devices and smartphones are available. Based on the theory of planned behavior, this study investigates the factors of the participation of road running and discusses the moderating effects of joining road running community and using wearable devices on the formation of behavioral intention of participating road running activity. Our results show that the behavioral intention of road running is influenced by attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control. Perceived behavioral control is the largest impact factor of behavioral intentions. The factors that whether to join the road running organizations and whether to use wearable devices moderates the formation of behavioral intentions of joining road running activity.
