”The Taste of Tea and The Heart of Zen”, written by Lin Cing-Syuan in story format, containing 26 articles which states his experience as well as his thoughts, is a combination of Literature and Buddhism. Lin's professional works related to tea studies are not many. Therefore, ”The Taste of Tea and The Heart of Zen” is very important for us to know his cultivation of tea studies. Lin has strong confidence in both connotation of tea studies and the state of his life, in the comprehensive perspective of the combination of tea and Zen especially. Although Lin is highly self-confident, some scholars are skeptical about his confident assertions. Take Cheng Shu-Mei for example, she thinks the comprehension of tea and Zen in this book lacks the depth of rational thinking. Second, we analyze the characteristics of thinking and Lin's traits that is shown in ”The Taste of Tea and The Heart of Zen”.
